Primark, MUA, and highstreet sales. It's not difficult for most to spot a good (but cheap) budget buy. Sadly, I am not most. I see a product, I fall in love, I buy. I don't usually look for a bargain- in fact I don't usually look for anything at all! So when I was asked (or more truthfully, challenged) to do a budget haul post, I was a bit worried. A trip to glasgow, taking only £10 and swearing not to pay over £5 for any product, proved to be more fun than I expected. And I certainly got alot out of it!
Hat: £1, New Look
Top: £3, Primark
I really like beany hats, and don't often find one which looks good while also not overspending. So seeing £1 in New Look, I was naturally skeptical. But my initial thoughts were turned around as soon as I tried it on, and let me tell you it was so comfortable! The NYC top is definitely something that I don't usually go for. Oversized jumpers amd tops arenot my usual style; and it's not in my comfort zone to go casual. Being the type of girl who is more comfortable wearing dresses and skirts, I was surprised to find that as soon as I layed eyes on this top, I fell in love. And thank goodness that it was within my budget too! Primark is great for statement tops, so I would certainly recommend anyone and everyone to check them out!
Red MUA lipstick: £1, superdrug
Black MUA eyeliner: £1, superdrug
Miss sporty mascara: £3.50, superdrug
As you may or may not be able to notice, I am wearing all of these makeup products in the previous picture. Only spending £5.50 for three different makeup products was most surreal for me.. I would usually spend about £6 for an eyeliner, £8-10 for a lipstick and just about anything around £6-8 for mascara. But trying out these cheaper budget products, I was surprised at the quality of them. From these three products, I am impressed and able to say that I am going to be keeping on tabs with these less expensive produts.. means I can get more for less! One thing however that I would not recommend the MUA nail varnish. I bought their nail varnish a few weeks ago in shades of lilac, mint green, and sea blue. Trying it out, I was extremely disappointed, especially after the success of the previous products. The paint was very thin, and the brush was not of good quality; rather rough.
In the end, I came home with 5 great products, and still had 50p left from my £10- an altogether very successful budget shopping trip!
